Admissions for Entry to The Judd
School Sixth Form
The target number of students to be admitted
to Year 12 is 160. A minimum of 40 offers will be made to external
applicants. Students must have at least 4 GCSEs at grade A or
above and will have to have obtained a grade A at least at GCSE in
subjects they wish to continue at A2 level. Students must
obtain a minimum grade B in English Language and Mathematics at
GCSE (all offers made during Year 11 are conditional on students
fulfilling this criterion).
Students should be aware that in
practice most students entering the Sixth Form have far higher
grades at GCSE (of our present Y12 students, approximately
two thirds achieved
5 A* or more at GCSE) and the character of the
Sixth Form reflects this.

General Guidelines for applying
Level 3 Courses (A
level Equivalent):
The minimum requirement for entry to the Sixth Form is 6 GCSE
subjects at Grade B or above. All candidates should have GCSE Grade
C or above in English, Mathematics, two sciences and a modern
foreign language.
A grade A* is expected for students who wish to study Maths at
Higher Level. For all other Higher Level subjects a grade A or
above is required.
Students wishing to study Maths or Physics at Standard Level
should have achieved a minimum grade A in these GCSE subjects. For
all other Standard Level subjects a minimum of a grade B is
required.

individual course pages.
Students are required to choose 3 subjects at higher level and 3
subjects at standard level

Equivalent):
Entry Requirements
If you wish to join the Weald of Kent
sixth form you must have an average overall GCSE point score of at
least 45 calculated from the best 8 results including Maths and
English minimum grade C for these subjects. To find your
points total add your Maths and English scores plus the next best 6
grades and divide by 8. Grade A* (58 points), A (52 points), B (46
points), C (40 points), D (34 points), E (28 points), F (22
points), G (16 points), U/X (O points).
Some subjects have specific entry requirements.
Please see website for details. You should apply for 4
subjects.
PLEASE NOTE THAT COURSES CAN ONLY RUN IF THERE IS A
VIABLE NUMBER OF STUDENTS OPTING FOR THEM.
