Level 3
Courses (A level Equivalent):
Level 3 (A Level) courses are accessed by;
A minimum of 5 A*-C grades at GCSE or
equivalent level courses i.e. BTEC Level 2.
The minimum entry requirements specified by
the subjects of their choice i.e. Mathematics ‘B’ grade to ensure
student success on these subject courses.
BTEC level 3 courses require a minimum of a
Merit grade and each subject is counted as one grade in line with
other educational institutions in the area
A supportive reference confirming the
students’ suitability for their preferred subject choice

Standard entrance requirements for a place on an Advanced Level
programme at Fulston Manor School are 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C.
Some subjects have additional requirements, and applicants are
advised to check subject pages on the prospectus. Students who do
not meet the minimum entrance requirements are welcome to apply for
our Level 2 provision.

All Level 3 (both Academic and BTEC) students must be studying a
minimum of 3 Level 3 subjects (or their equivalents) and a maximum
of 4 subjects.
The Occupational Pathway (both Level 2 and Level 3): The
Football Academy/Vocational Science/Public Services/Travel and
Tourism/Child care/Horse care/Health and Social Care/Construction
and Engineering/Retail and Administration are all standalone
subjects where students will only pick one subject to study.

A Levels suit academic students who will
obtain at least 5 academic GCSEs at grades A* - C, including
English and Maths. Pupils will need at least B grades in the
subject they wish to study and sometimes in English and Maths as
well.
Level 3 BTECs suit students who wish to pursue
a more vocational pathway and will obtain at least 5 GCSEs (A* - C)
or BTEC level 2 equivalents including English and Maths.
Pupils will need a Merit in the BTEC subject at Level 2.
Level 3 BTEC Singles (Subsidiary Diploma) have
equivalent UCAS points to an A level and BTEC Doubles (Double) to 2
A levels. To opt for a double award you must pick the subject
as a single subject.
For Cache L3 - B grade at Cache L2 or 5 A*-C
at GCSE (including English)
