General Guidelines for applying
Level 3
Courses (A level Equivalent):
Traditional A-Levels-
The entry requirements will
be 5 A*-C grades at GCSE including English. Included in this, you
will preferably have a B grade in the subject you are choosing or a
similar subject. (For example, you won’t have studied sociology

instead.)
If you have studied BTEC’s
in year 11, you can only count 1 GCSE per BTEC. (For example, if
you will gain 4 GCSEs for sport, you can only count one of those
towards your 5 required.)
BTEC Level 3's-
The entry requirements will be 5 grade A*-C with at
least a merit or distinction for a level 2 BTEC in the subject or a
similar subject. (For example, if you have studied BTEC art in year
11, you must gain a merit or distinction in order to study Fashion
in year 12.)
BTEC level 2's-
Entry requirements for a level 2
course are 5 A*-G
