of work and enables you to gain qualifications while working. As an
employee, you earn a wage, get paid holidays, learn new skills and
gain valuable experience working alongside experienced staff.

What is an
Apprenticeship?
You are employed by an organisation or company
and paid a regular wage while you learn practical job-specific
skills in the workplace. You may also receive training provided by
a local college or specialist training organisation.
What’s in it for me?
It’s a great way to get started on your chosen
career, earn while you learn, and gain the skills and nationally
recognised qualifications that employers want and need.

How much do I get paid?
All employed Apprentices receive at least the
National Minimum Wage (NMW), which is currently £2.60 per hour.
However, many employers choose to pay more.
Will I have to pay
anything?
No. Costs are covered by government
funding.
Can I do an
Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are open to everyone living in
England over the age of 16 (After you have completed year 11) who
is not currently in full-time education.
What kind of Apprenticeships are
there?
There are many different kinds of
Apprenticeships to choose from, so you’re sure to find one that
suits your interests and abilities. There are over 60 different
types of apprenticeship available in Kent, covering a wide range of
job roles, including business administration, accountancy, media,
IT, childcare, construction, engineering and retail – and many
more.
